On Human-Computer Analogy

(This article is written in style of verbal speech. There are grammar errors, disorder, and irrational, unscientific usage of terms.)

Human mind is analogous to a computer operating system. It consists of many softwares, or programs. Any new information, or input, or a new program, coming into the system, interacts with installed programs. Installed programs process the new information, utilising cpu power, memory, and other resources. If a new information or code is unable to be processed by the system due to any incompatibility or any conflict anywhere with any program, the system tries to resolve compatibility issues by finding a way out of the deadlock. This conflict resolution is part of the processing of the input. It plays role in learning, concept formation, personal evolution and development.
The process requires cpu processing power, active memory, storage memory, and other resources. Non availability of some resources can cause the process to take long time. Thousands of programs run simultaneously. They interact, find their way, interfere with each other, etc. If something cannot be processed, either the process requires to be killed, or the whole system hangs. Killing the process does not prevent the glitch from occurring again. Problem resolutions occur at a deeper level, and require systematic diagnostic.

In our life, experiences which we are able to process without much conflict add to our liveliness and colours of experience. Emotions, feelings, experiences, which conflict hugely with preexisting programs cause us pain and trauma. Self-building, and self development is this processing of experiences so as to be able to keep the active memory (RAM) free for efficient execution of new programs, new experiences. When we are unable to process something, it occupies space in RAM and slows down or sabotages working of other programs. We may kill the active tasks, distract ourselves, consume drugs, or alcohol, for a temporary clearing of RAM, but it will not solve the issue as this repeated clearing of RAM will also cause unintended loss of half processed data from several other programs.

We need to identify the problem systemically, and work on solving it piece by piece, line by line. We need to update the preexisting apps so that they require less RAM to execute the same functions, and become more compatible with new releases of other programs. This program system consists of core values, with a layer of ethics, a history of events and experiences.

Incompatibilities always exists between programs at some level of depth. They are just not evoked in usual, shallow functioning of the program and come to surface or active memory only in certain boundary situations. We can't afford to uninstall every incompatible program because we need them for certain productive tasks. We learn to use these programs in a matter that serves our objective, and go into the incompatibility region with awareness and choice. Sometimes, we may also entertain an incompatible program so as to enhance our capacity of dealing with more of such programs. We use the program to our advantage.

Malwares are programs which do not make their intention clear while entering the system. They do not take informed consent of the user, and neither do they make clear indication about the storage capacity, memory and other resources they will require. They behave in ways unexpected of them.
Malwares are generally harmful, however they can be an opportunity of growth for our operating system. Every program, including the malware, performs some function. It is a disfunction for us only when we are not able to capitalise on its uses and are not able to predict it's behaviour. If we can predict it's behaviour, its core algorithms, we would be able to use it to our advantage.

The job of a psychoanalyst is to decode these programs from the psyche of a person. A psychotherapist then may help him process the chunk that's clogging the flow, and make him better prepared to navigate through life's challenges and live a life of joy, meaning, and truth. A bit of dance, music and rhythm too helps processing - whatever rhymes tends to make sense - as we are tonal creatures - as much as the meaning and content of words matter, matters the vibe, quality of energy in any dialogue. People forget the words we say, they remember the feelings, the vibe, they felt with us and memories of us.

We should be aware of what programs we are living with, and how to improve our management over those programs.
We as a society, should, in the process of socialisation, provide our new members with a thought system that is best able to process the experiences he is likely to have in future. Improvisation should periodically happen throughout lifetime, with self-awareness and choice, so as to come closer to doing what we intend to do.
